Background

Qualified as an accountant in 1985, prior to which I worked as wages clerk, computer programmer, financial accountant, in the following firms: Goodyear, Avonmore, Braun, Kilkenny Design and Digital. After qualification I worked as Financial Controller in Clonmel Chemicals Ltd and Tanco Engineering Ltd, and also worked in consultancy and enterprise development.

I am a member of the Irish Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management
I am completing a MA (Enterprise and Technology)

Married to Rita, sons Ruaidhri, Breandan, Colm, Eanna, Padraig, daughters = Dearbhail, Roisin, and living in Kilkenny.

Hobbies and Interests

I have a passion for slow boats and quiet back-waters, pet hates are jet-skis and speed-boats. I have cruised the Shannon extensively, in my 22ft motor sailor, and I am fitting out a 40ft ferro ketch.
