Background

I graduated from University College Cork in 1984 with a B. Comm. in Accountancy. From there I went to Price Waterhouse and trained as a Chartered Accountant in Cork qualifying in 1988 as an A.C.A. I pursued a Diploma in Computer Science in 1988/89 in U.C.C. and joined the lecturing staff in Waterford Institute of Technology in 1989 for two years as a lecturer in accounting. In September 1991 I moved to IT Carlow as a Business Studies (computer aplications) lecturer.

Managment Information Systems and Computer applications to Business Certicate and Diploma students, Strategic Information Systems to Business Degree students.

Leisure Activities

I am the Chairperson of the Women's Soccer Colleges Association of Ireland (WSCAI) and a council member of the Ladies Football Association of Ireland. I have coached Women's soccer at colleges level since 1983 initially being involved with UCC women's soccer club from 1983 to 1991 (8 seasons) winning four Intervarsity trophies (National Championships) and two league titles.

I founded a club side (College Corinthians Ladies) in Cork in 1990 winning the LFAI Intermediate Cup in 1991. I coached this team for two seasons. I am the current manager of the WSCAI combined colleges team, we won an International Invitational tournament in Liverpool in April 1997. I am a qualified level One coach of the FAI (Football Association of Ireland) and am currently doing my Level II badge.

This year I have taken on the reigns as coach of the IT Carlow's mens team who play in the Irish Technical Colleges league.

I have also in the past coached Women's Gaelic football in UCC and the Cork Women's team in 1988 winning a National League Title.
